Sell it with usOffered by a private collector, this Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 16710 from 2000 is presented with a modern Rolex box (not the original for this example), warranty papers, booklets, sleeve and calendar card. In addition, the Rolex Service Centre guarantee card is provided showing that the watch was serviced in February this year. The vendor advises it’s in good working order and has provided an ‘A’ grading for condition. The images appear to be consistent with that assessment, showing marks and scratches on the case and bracelet commensurate with age and regular wear.
The ref. 16710 represents the very last generation of classically proportioned GMT-Master IIs. The watch’s 40mm case is more refined than the bulky squared-off lugs of contemporary Rolex sports models and is well suited to a broad range of wrist sizes. The bi-directional rotating bezel features a red and black aluminium insert, and as the ultimate travel companion, can be referenced against the red GMT hand to track multiple time zones simultaneously.
The hands and indices are fashioned from white gold and filled with Super-LumiNova to provide superior legibility to the wearer. Attached to the case is an Oyster bracelet with a fold-over safety clasp. The watch is powered by Rolex’s tried and tested calibre 3185, which has a 48-hour power reserve and is chronometer certified.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
