This 2000 Rolex Daytona ref. 116528 is being offered by a private vendor who notes that the hands were professionally altered by a previous owner to enhance legibility. The watch shows some marks and swirls on the case and bracelet commensurate with age, and its condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.

The 40mm case is fashioned from solid 18K yellow gold, delivering maximum heft and wrist presence. Its versatile dimensions and svelte profile make it supremely wearable, particularly for a watch that incorporates chronograph functionality. It’s complemented by a crisp white dial with applied gold hour markers and coronet at 12 o’clock. A hint of colour is introduced through the ‘DAYTONA’ script that curves around the sub-register at 6 o’clock. Housed underneath the case back is the chronometer-certified calibre 4130. This tried and tested movement is equipped with a 72-hour power reserve. The watch is secured to the wrist via a solid gold Oyster bracelet with polished centre links.
