Sell it with usThis Rolex Daytona ‘Zenith’ is being auctioned along with its outer and display box, as well as a spare black leather strap. Offered from a trade seller, the watch is from 1998 and is presented with no significant marks, bringing it well within its ‘A’ grading.
Popularly known now as the “Zenith Daytona”, this generation marked a major milestone in the model line's history. It was the first self-winding Daytona reference, and Rolex turned to the Zenith El Primero Calibre 400 - widely considered the best self-winding chronograph movement available on the market at the time.
The instantly recognisable case silhouette measures 40mm in diameter and is crafted from 18K yellow gold, offering a level of notable opulence and plenty of heft. Attached to the case is a brown alligator strap that complements the gold’s warm tones.
A fixed bezel displays an engraved tachymeter scale as a nod to the model’s motorsport heritage. The lacquered white dial features gold sub-dials to display the chronograph and running seconds. On this precious metal example, large yellow gold Arabic numerals mark the hours.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
