ABOUT THIS WATCH
- A rare reference in the Rolex catalogue, the Datejust Turn-O-Graph is a historically significant piece in the Crown’s back catalogue
- Originally released in 1953, the Turn-O-Graph was Rolex’s first watch to feature a rotating bezel, thus pre-dating the iconic Submariner.
- It was also used as a flying tool watch by the United States Airforce’s aerobatic squadron, hence its 'Thunderbird’ moniker
- Thereafter, all Datejust Turn-O-Graph watches were marketed as the ‘Thunderbird’ in the United States
- This example is finished in steel and yellow gold and is paired with an Oyster bracelet
- The engine-turned bezel has been re-imagined on the Turn-O-Graph, with the ability to rotate and time events up to 60 minutes
- Complementing the two-tone finish is a black tapestry dial, which is embellished with applied baton hour markers
- Housed inside the 100m waterproof case is Rolex's tried and tested calibre 3135, a chronometer-certified movement with a 48-hour power reserve
