SUMMARY
Considered by many to be the Rolex Submariner in its purest form thanks to the classically-styled 40mm case, and absence of a date window, the reference 14060 is amongst the last non-ceramic versions of the world’s most iconic dive watch. Released in 1988 to replace the outgoing and long-running ref. 5513, production lasted until 1999, when it was replaced with an ‘M’ variant housing a new movement. Thanks to its perfect blend of classic looks and modern construction, the 14060, with its ‘two line’ dial, has become a much sought-after reference within the Submariner family. This particular example has developed a characterful patina on the hour markers as the tritium luminous material has changed over time. The colour of the lume inside the hands would suggest they have been replaced at service.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
