Sell it with usConceived by legendary watch designer Gerald Genta in 1972, the Royal Oak was a pioneer for luxury stainless steel sports watches. Its instantly recognisable angular shape has become iconic in the world of Swiss watchmaking. This particular example from the 1990s is part of the second generation of Royal Oaks. Produced between 1993 and 2000, this reference is the most numerous and recognisable of the collection.
The movement powering the watch is an automatic calibre based on the tried and tested Jaeger-LeCoultre 889. The two-tone case retains the angular shape that the model is famous for and features an 18K yellow gold bezel. The luminous hands and indices are finished in yellow gold, contrasting nicely with the white baton dial. The date window at the 3 o’clock position is also gold to match the other gold components.
This example is offered in very good condition, with a slight tarnish on several hour markers and light signs of wear on the case. Included in the sale are the original papers.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
