RolexGMT Master II

Introduced in 1983, the ref. 16760 is an important historical reference being the first GMT-Master II. Known colloquially as the “Fat Lady”, it sported a thicker case, wider bezel, and larger crown guards than its predecessors.

The model was also notable for a number of important introductions, none more so than the “coke” bezel insert, which has become synonymous with the model line and was the only colour option available on the 16760 during its five-year production run. Other firsts included a sapphire crystal, white gold surrounds on the hour markers and a centre hour hand that could operate independently to the GMT hand thanks to the updated Rolex calibre 3085 movement.

This example from 1984 is presented in very good condition, having been serviced by the Rolex Service Centre on the 6th of January 2021. Protective stickers from this service are still in place on the watch. Some signs of wear are visible on the bracelet. Also included in the sale are a Rolex box, travel pouch, and a service receipt card.
