SUMMARY

Described by enthusiasts as Rolex’s “go anywhere, do anything” watch, the Rolex Datejust has been a much-loved staple in The Crown’s family since its launch in 1945. This reference - the 16030 - is one of the last Datejusts to be fitted with an acrylic crystal. Adding to its vintage appearance is the metallic silver dial, which is characterised by Rolex’s older font, and tritium-filled indices and pips on the outer track. Beneath the screw-down stainless steel rear is Rolex’s 3035 calibre; an automatic movement that remained in production for 12 years and is considered to be one of Rolex’s finest.
