SUMMARY
This transitional reference links contemporary GMT-Master IIs with historical examples dating back to the 1950s. Produced between 1980 and 1988, it incorporates an appealing mix of vintage charm - like the thick plexiglass crystal - with more modern features such as increased water resistance and a higher frequency movement.
The 40mm case and Jubilee bracelet are finished in steel and yellow gold with a blend of brushed and polished surfaces throughout. This example is presented with the coveted ‘Root Beer’ bezel insert which has faded to create its own unique colour and character. Also notable on this watch is the ‘nipple dial’, which refers to the hour markers’ shape, and is a feature highly sought-after by collectors. The movement within is the calibre 3075 which is equipped with a 42-hour power reserve.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
