Sell it with usThe Oysterdate Precision was a long-running model in Rolex’s catalogue and is particularly interesting for being the last Oyster case reference to feature a manually wound movement. It’s also incredibly versatile and looks right at home dressed up for special occasions, or with more casual attire.
This reference has all the hallmark features of a classic Rolex with its stainless steel Oyster case, robust construction, and magnified date aperture at 3 o’clock. The dial has a lovely crisp white finish and is complemented by applied hour markers and a coronet at 12 o’clock.
Housed underneath the screw-down case back is the tried and tested calibre 1215. This 17 jewel manually wound movement beats away at a reliable 18,000vph. Attached to the case is a textured brown leather strap. Being such a versatile watch, it’s well suited to a range of straps that can be quickly and easily swapped out thanks to the drilled lugs.
This example from 1964 shows some wear on the case commensurate with age, and some patina is visible on the hands. The overall condition is within the bounds of the seller’s A grading and the seller advises the watch has just returned from service. No box or papers are supplied in the sale.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
