Sell it with usModifying 7750 calibre movements into something far more interesting is something of a speciality for IWC. Famously they turned this widely used calibre into a user-friendly perpetual calendar chronograph for the Da Vinci line and here it is modified to become a split-chronograph or ‘rattrapante’ for the Portuguese collection.
The split-second chronograph module was developed by Richard Habring during his time with IWC. He now has developed a loyal following working with his wife to build their eponymous independent brand.
While the Portuguese line is generally known for its larger case sizes, the Chronograph Rattrapante reference IW371202 measures in at an approachable 40.9mm across, and a cuff friendly 12.7mm thick. The case has a minimal bezel and a large open satin silver-grain dial with sunken subdials and applied numerals.
The watch is presented in good overall condition with some marks on the case back, consistent with its age. It’s supplied on a crocodile leather strap and paired with an IWC pin buckle. Box and papers are included in the sale.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
