• A commemorative piece released by one of Switzerland’s ‘Holy Trinity’ watchmakers in 2022, the Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222 is a contemporary interpretation of one of its landmark vintage pieces
• The historic reference in question is the 44018, a Jorg Hysek-designed watch released in 1977 to mark Vacheron Constantin’s 222nd anniversary 
• A largely faithful interpretation, this contemporary 222 retains the original’s 37mm monobloc tonneau case, scalloped bezel, and distinctive stamped Maltese cross at five o’clock on the case’s bottom right lug
• Changes to the watch include an offset date window for improved legibility, a new triple-blade clasp for the integrated bracelet, revisited bracelet pins to improve comfort, and vintage font for the ‘Automatic’ wording in the bottom half of the gold-toned dial
• The biggest difference between this modern piece and its predecessor is the contemporary watch’s brushed and polished 18K yellow gold construction
• Beneath the sapphire caseback beats Vacheron Constantin’s calibre 2455/1, a self-winding movement finished with a a 40-hour power reserve
• Calibre 2455/1 has a solid gold centre rotor with a fluted-edge reflecting the design of the watch’s distinctive bezel, and retro font ‘222’ numbering

• Presented with its lacquered wood Vacheron Constantin-branded display box, outer packaging, guarantee, and swing tag
