SUMMARY
This 2023 watch is a collaboration between Behrens - a luxury Chinese micro brand - and Konstantin Chaykin, an independent luxury watchmaker from Russia with 36 patents to his name. One of just 200 pieces, the watch earns its 'Joker' moniker from its playful dial layout, which takes the form of a face. Despite its seemingly complex layout, the dial is reasonably easy to navigate. The right "eye" filled with the Behrens logo marks the hours, whilst the left "eye" - finished with Konstantin Chaykin branding - denotes the seconds. Meanwhile, the "mouth" marks the minutes by another hand, which sweeps from left-to-right and back again. The watch's sense of theatre is not just restricted to the dial, either - the case is finished in flash-frozen titanium, which creates a crystallised effect. The rear casing of the watch is finished with an etching of the Joker - a character turned into a caricature by Konstantin Chaykin. Beneath it beats a version of the Swiss made Sellita SW200 movement, which has been modified by Behrens to allow the hours, minutes, and seconds to be separated into individual sub-dials.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
