SUMMARY
Launched towards the end of 2021 and a recent prize winner at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève for the best dive watch, the Pelagos is an interesting reference from Tudor with its development based on direct input from the Marine Nationale. The company’s connection with the French navy stretches back decades and is associated with some of the most iconic and sought-after vintage Tudor Submariners. As hinted in the name, the FXD’s 42mm titanium case has fixed bars - a design not commonly seen in modern watches, but one that provides more strength and durability. Another unexpected feature is the bezel, which is both bi-directional and has a countdown scale. The blue dial and snowflake hands are a further nod to Tudor’s rich history in dive watches.
