SUMMARY
First released in 2013, the ref. 5205 offers an interesting variation on Patek Philippe’s patented annual calendar complication. Apertures are displayed in an arc around the top of the dial to indicate the day of the week, date, and month. In addition, a moonphase and 24-hour indicator are positioned at 6 o’clock. This is all governed by Patek Philippe’s calibre 324 S QA LU 24H movement, which features a 21K gold winding rotor alongside a Patek Philippe Seal, meaning it’s tested to a tolerance of -3 to +2 seconds per day and finished to exacting standards. The movement sits inside a 40mm rose gold case with hollowed-out lugs that give it a distinct and attractive profile. Complementing this aesthetic is a distinctive dark green sunray dial.
