SUMMARY

The Omega Speedmaster Professional is one of the true greats of modern watchmaking, with a timeless design that has changed very little in over 50 years of its production. A watch with intergalactic roots that was initially designed for motor racing, the "Speedy" has become synonymous with space travel and exploration thanks to its long association with NASA and numerous appearances on the wrists of US astronauts. For 2022, Omega reinterpreted this iconic chrono in a more luxurious specification, offering it in the watchmaker’s proprietary moonshine gold, and paired with a rich dark green dial and ceramic bezel. The watch also benefits from a number of key updates launched in 2021 including a revised bracelet and movement. Omega’s calibre 3861 incorporates the brand’s co-axial escapement and has been Master Chronometer certified by METAS. This manual winding movement is also resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss.
