SUMMARY

IWC’s rich history in aviation inspired the launch of the Big Pilot’s watch in 2002, with the model line becoming the archetypal watch in the company’s catalogue. This particular Big Pilot is part of the recently introduced and slightly revised 43mm collection. The ref. IW329701 Spitfire was launched in 2021 and is finished in full titanium with a ‘Type B’ dial. This layout was used in the second world war by pilots, providing clear information and decreasing the risk of reading the time incorrectly. The hands and dial feature ecru-coloured luminescence, evoking the look of aged tritium from vintage examples. Behind the titanium case back beats the IWC calibre 82100 which is equipped with a 60-hour power reserve.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.

The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Watch Collecting requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid.
