SUMMARY
Tudor answered the prayers of collectors and enthusiasts when it launched the Black Bay Fifty-Eight back at Baselworld 2018. The watch had a revised form factor with a reduced diameter and thickness. The 39mm stainless steel case is only 12mm thick and provides an ergonomic fit while maintaining a more faithful representation of the vintage Submariner it was inspired by.
The matte black dial features gilt accents on the script, minutes track, hands and indices, providing a touch of warmth that doesn’t feel contrived or overdone. Attached to the case is a satin-finished stainless steel bracelet with rivet-style polished sides, and a folding clasp with a safety catch. Inside is Tudor’s in-house calibre MT5402 movement, which is equipped with a 70-hour power reserve, anti-magnetic silicon balance spring, and is Chronometer certified.
