Sell it with usOffered for sale by a private collector is this Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980 in rose gold. The lot, originally retailed in 2021, comprises a full set with the watch and gold bracelet, all presentation boxes and documentation. The watch is in unworn condition and matches the seller’s rating of ‘AAA’ condition.
The rose gold case features a screw-down crown, sapphire-crystal case back and is rated water-resistant to 120m. The case diameter is 40.5 mm, and the height is 12.2 mm. The watch is expertly hand finished with a blend of brushed and polished surfaces.
The dial has a gradient finish and a distinctive horizontal embossing that’s become onymous with the Nautilus model line. The chronograph timing is neatly displayed at 6 o’clock, keeping the dial symmetrical and uncluttered. Super-Luminova has been used to fill the rose gold markers and hands to provide maximum legibility to the wearer.
On the watch’s underside, a sapphire caseback reveals the calibre CH 28-520 C/522 movement, which comprises 327 parts and offers a power reserve of up to 55 hours. The rotor is made in 21-karat gold, and the movement is finely finished and decorated with the Patek Philippe Seal. The lot is presented on its matching full gold bracelet with a double-deployant clasp.
With the rounded octagonal bezel, the ingenious porthole construction of its case, and its distinctive horizontally embossed dial, the Nautilus has long been the very epitome of the elegant (and highly sought-after) sports watch.
