Sell it with usFrom a private collector, this Patek Philippe Calatrava Weekly Calendar is being auctioned along with its booklets, box and outer packaging. Presented without any visible signs of wear, its condition falls within the seller’s ‘AA’ grading.
A mechanical smartwatch for the wrist, the Weekly Calendar features a retro-inspired case. This 2021 example echoes the stepped lugs and sandwich case of the ref. 2512 from 1955 but in a more compact 40mm steel construction. The use of steel in the case is rare to see in Patek’s Calatrava line. The dial, busy as it is, radiates a sense of simplicity in its font and railtrack design all over. The case is formed by cold-forming it in high-tonnage presses, giving it greater tensile strength and making it harder. With legibility in mind, the red tips on the hands help display the day and week, with date and month indications also present. Turning the watch over reveals the self-winding calibre 26‑330 with 92 additional parts to display the days and number of the week as well.
Elevating the Calatrava range by making it a more practical watch, the ref. 5212A is inspired by Patek’s ref. 2512 while also displaying the week number. Simple yet functional, this is a watch that will still be relevant years from now.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
