Offered by a private UK collector, this one-owner watch come as a full set including, box, booklets, and authenticity certificate. The watch has been worn, with light marks to the case sides, lugs, and case back. All the bezel diamonds are present. The satin strap shows signs of wear, and the clasp has light scratches. There are no major nicks or dents to the watch case, placing this within the bounds of the seller’s A condition grade.

The Patek Philippe Calatrava has been the epitome of the simple, round watch since it’s inception in 1932. With the ref. 4897R this simplicity is elevated with dial decoration and a diamond bezel. The chocolate-brown dial features guilloché engraving and the elongated dart hour markers are coated in powdered gold. Surrounding the dial are 72 brilliant-cut diamonds with a total weight of 0.47ct.

The watch is powered by the manually-wound calibre 215. Running at 4Hz, this movement has 18 jewels and despite its diminutive 21.9mm diameter, offers 44hrs of power reserve. The watch is fitted to a chocolate brown satin strap with a rose gold pin buckle.
