Sell it with usOffered by a private collector, this Patek Philippe ref. 5235/50R-001 was purchased new by the vendor in 2021 from a Patek Philippe authorised dealer. It’s a full-set and accompanied by the display box, certificate of origin, date adjustment tool, swing tags, leather folder and booklets. The vendor advises the watch is in excellent working order, and its condition appears to be within the bounds of their ‘AA’ grading.
The rose gold case measures 40.5mm in diameter, with handsome sharp lines inspired by the ref. 3448 Perpetual Calendar from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The anthracite dial is nuanced with a vertical satin graining and contrasting sub-dials, apertures and minutes track. As a regulator-style watch, the hours, minutes and seconds are displayed separately. The apertures at 10, 2 and 6 o’clock show the annual calendar complication.
The movement is bespoke and created specifically for the ref. 5235. The calibre 31‑260 REG QA, which can be viewed through the sapphire case back, is elaborately decorated with Côtes de Genève and has a 22K micro-rotor, to ensure an unobstructed view. It’s signed with the Patek Philippe seal and tested to -3 to +2 seconds per day.
The ref. 5235 is a Patek Philippe like no other. Initially debuted in 2012 in white gold, it’s the first time Patek Philippe produced a regulator-style wristwatch.
