SUMMARY
The Speedmaster is one of the true greats of modern watchmaking, with a timeless design that has changed very little in over 50 years of production. A watch with terrestrial routes that was initially designed for motor racing, it’s become synonymous with space travel and exploration thanks to its long association with NASA and appearances on the wrists of astronauts.
This modern iteration exhibits all of the Speedmaster’s classic hallmarks but introduces a more modern aesthetic and incorporates a fitting photo-realistic moon phase complication. The watch also cleverly integrates the running seconds, chronograph and pointer date into two sub-registers at 3 and 9 o’clock. On the flipside, a large sapphire crystal case back offers an uninterrupted view of the co-axial Master Chronometer 9904, which is equipped with a Co-Axial escapement and has a 60-hour power reserve.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
Any watch not covered by a current sales or service warranty should be considered as potentially requiring a service, even if in full working order on the date of purchase.
The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
