Sell it with usAs the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games, Omega always presents limited editions dedicated to this major sports event. For Tokyo 2020, the event was impacted the global COVID-19 pandemic, meaning this collectable series of Speedmasters reflects a symbol of the 2020 games that never occurred. These limited-edition watches were produced in five colours, representing the different coloured rings of the Olympic flag.
Japan, with its knowledgable and acquisitive collectors, has always been an important market for Omega. Over the years, the company has released a number of watches made available exclusively to the domestic market there. The Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition Speedmasters were produced in five colours, representing the different coloured rings of the Olympic flag. This example of the blue version features the familiar Speedmaster specs of a 42mm asymmetrical case with brushed and polished surfaces, external tachymeter scale on the bezel, calibre 1861 hand-wound movement with the 3-6-9 layout for the chronograph, all presented on a 3-link steel bracelet. Instead of the customary sapphire caseback, this sought-after Olympic model features a solid steel back stamped with the Tokyo 2020 logo.
Numbered 1444 of 2020, this example is presented in unworn condition with some factory stickers in place. The lot is offered as a full set with its presentation box, booklets, and guarantee card.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
