SUMMARY
Designed by Cartier over 100 years ago, the Santos carries a desirable and unshakable luxurious appeal to this day. This unusual model in the Santos family elevates the appeal to a whole new level. Its 40mm stainless steel case is unmistakably a Santos, with a vertically brushed body, polished bezel, and chamfered edges throughout. The crown, with its signature blue cabochon, is also present. But rather than a silver dial with black Roman numerals, this Santos sports a skeletonized ‘dial’ to give a view of the Cartier 9611 MC caliber. Perhaps the most remarkable feature of this dial is the way in which Cartier’s familiar Roman numerals appear. On this model, rather than being printed, they form the structural basis for the skeleton dial itself.
