Part of a private collection, this Cartier Santos is being offered for auction by the original owner. Purchased from a UK dealer, it comes with the outer and display box, booklets, warranty card, two spare leather straps, spare bracelet links, strap-changing tool and invoice. The watch shows some light signs of wear, and its condition is within the bounds of the seller’s ‘A’ grading. Along with the watch comes 8 years of additional warranty.

Presented in stainless steel, the 35x42mm square case wears comfortably on the wrist thanks to its versatile size and cambered lugs, which wrap around the wrist. The watch is predominantly satin-finished with polishing on the bezel and along the flanks. The dial is classic Cartier, with its crisp white face and stylised Roman numerals.

The watch is paired with a stainless steel bracelet for a sporty look but can be dressed up with one of the two included leather straps.

Housed inside the 100m water-resistant case is the in-house Cartier calibre 1847 MC. This self-winding movement has a 42-hour power reserve.

Cartier’s first wristwatch and the world’s first pilot’s watch, the Santos holds a special place in watch history. Continuously evolving with the times - and successfully doing so - this timepiece is the perfect interpretation of what the Santos should look like in the 21st century.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Watch Collecting requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid.
