This 2021 Panthère de Cartier is presented as a full set and is being auctioned through a UK-based private collector. The watch comes with its original display box, plus all of the correct paperwork including its user manual, and proof of Cartier’s two-year guarantee. The owner has also included a set of swing tags as part of the ensemble. This iconic timepiece is described as “unworn” by the vendor and they’ve subsequently graded it ‘AAA’ for condition. The images appear consistent with that assessment.

Among the most recognisable evening watch designs, this elegant medium-sized Panthère de Cartier is finished in stainless steel, With its sleek squared case, the Panthère is a modern classic piece that houses a white dial inspired by Art Deco references the brand crafted at the turn of the 20th century. Meanwhile, a combination of black Roman numeral hour markers, an inner “railroad” minute track finished in black, plus the luxury watchmaker’s traditional blued-steel ‘sword’ hands provide the watch with a classic, “traditionally Cartier” appearance. The reference is fitted with an integrated polished five-link bracelet, which serves to enhance its elegant overall appearance.

Beneath the screw-down stainless steel rear beats Cartier’s thin, high-efficient quartz movement introduced in 2018. Fitted with a new, high-performance battery, this power source has an autonomy of approximately eight years.

The Panthère de Cartier was introduced in 1983, and combines 1980s design with the traditional classic aesthetic of the Art Deco luxury items crafted by Cartier in the 1900s. The Panthère takes its name from the emblem of the house’s Panther logo.
