Sell it with usFor auction through a private vendor, this one-owner, 2019 Tudor Pelagos LHD is being presented as a full set. The watch comes with its original display box and outer sleeve, plus all of its original documentation including the warranty card, booklets and swing tags. Also included is a spare factory rubber strap. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and has graded it ‘A’ for condition. The images appear consistent with that assessment, showing light hairline scratches on the case and bracelet.
Finished in lightweight titanium, Tudor’s flagship diving watch measures 42mm in diameter and is as functional as it is quirky. Drawing on Tudor’s history of crafting a line of similar watches for the French navy during the 1970s, the Pelagos is immediately recognisable thanks to its unusual LHD-mounted crown positioned on the left side of the case. Beige-coloured hour markers, bezel markers, and hands - including the brand’s signature ‘snowflake’ hour hand - contrast with the matt black dial and provide this robust sea-dwelling tool with superior legibility whether the wearer is on land or at sea.
Meanwhile, the date window positioned provides this largely no-nonsense reference with a sense of playfulness; even-numbered days are displayed in red, whilst odd-numbered days are displayed in black. The reference wears a matching bi-metal bracelet fitted with a steel safety clasp and extension system developed exclusively and patented by Tudor. Water resistant to 500 metres (1,640 feet) the underwater credentials of the Tudor Pelagos are stressed by the automatic helium escape valve located on the side of the casing at three o’clock.
Driving the Pelagos is Tudor’s in-house developed calibre MT5612-LHD. This automatic movement was introduced in 2015, and has passed the rigorous Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. The power reserve is rated at 70 hours.
