Offered by a private collector, this limited-edition Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary is presented with its display box, warranty card, Master Chronometer card, Pictograms card, operating instructions, 50th-anniversary booklet and swing tag. Omega’s five-year warranty covers this example until 2024. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and has graded the watch ‘A’ for condition. The images appear consistent with that assessment, showing some light hairlines marks and a scratch on the clasp.

For an event as significant as Apollo 11’s 50th anniversary, Omega was bound to release something special - and they certainly delivered. This limited-edition watch is essentially a re-creation of a vintage Speedmaster reference, all the way down to the burgundy bezel and striking onyx hour markers. The 42mm case and bracelet are constructed of solid ‘moonshine’ gold - as is the dial - signified by ‘OM’ or ‘Or Massif’ printed next to ‘Swiss Made’.

On the case’s underside, a sapphire crystal reveals the gold-plated and manually-wound calibre 3861. The movement is a METAS-certified Master Chronometer with a co-axial escapement and silicon balance spring. Surrounding this is some commemorative text accompanied by a small representation of the Earth on one side and the moon on the other. Adding a special touch, Omega has chosen to use a real piece of lunar meteorite to represent its surface. The attached bracelet tapers neatly down to a twin-trigger fold-over clasp with the Omega logo.
