A private collector is offering this unusual Ochs und Junior Two Time Zones + Date, custom-designed and made by the company in 2019. This example of their Two Time Zones + Date has been worn sparingly and falls within the bounds of the seller’s ‘A’ rating for condition. The lot includes a document outlining the custom specifications and an additional strap (one is a blue textile, and the other is sturgeon leather). Bidders should note that Ochs & Junior watches do not have serial numbers, and therefore, a Watch Register certificate cannot be supplied.
The 42mm case is made in PVD coated gunmetal colour titanium and has distinctive short and straight lugs. The dial is a dark patina blue with horizontal graining and has a centre ring in bright malibu blue. This middle section displays a second time zone, which is cleverly framed by the hour hand. The 31 holes around the perimeter of the dial display the date, with the 10-minute markers serving as reference points. The small circle beneath 12 o’clock is the power reserve indicator (60 hours when fully wound)
Inside, the Ulysse Nardin UN-118 has been modified by Ludwig Oechslin. (It is worth noting that Ludwig Oechslin was responsible for developing some of Ulysse Nardin’s most successful and innovative movements during his time there in the 1990s-2000s.)
Ochs and Junior was founded in 2006 by Dr. Ludwig Oechslin and Beat Weinmann. The company pursues a singular dedication to simplification in materials, design, and engineering of their complications. They make only a few watches per year – about 130 – and provide customers with the opportunity for a unique level of customisation and collaboration.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Watch Collecting requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller, and performs a level of due diligence. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
