In 2019, Breitling launched the limited edition Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-edition. A project led by incoming CEO Georges Kern, with the help of prominent vintage watch collector Fred Mandelbaum, the mission was to create a faithful recreation of a classic Navitimer reference. More than just a vintage-inspired release, the details were carefully considered right down to the number of individual beads along the edge of the rotating bezel.

Also referenced against vintage examples were intricate details like the shape of polished chamfers on the lugs and the size of the crown and pushers. The reverse panda dial features a 12-hour chronograph and running seconds at 3,6 and 9 o’clock, in addition to slide-rule scales. Breitling didn’t just focus on the case and dial for this re-issue. It also captures the past by incorporating its B09 movement - a manual-wind conversion of its in-house B01 calibre with a 70-hour power reserve.

Released in steel and a far more limited run of precious metal variants, this particular example is finished in 18K rose gold and numbered 115 of 159. Presented in excellent condition and accompanied by a factory leather strap and 18K pin buckle, the sale also includes the box, guarantee, booklets, and travel pouch.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
