Sell it with usThe Speedmaster Professional is one of the true greats of modern watchmaking, with a timeless design that has changed very little in over 50 years of production. A watch with terrestrial routes that was initially designed for motor racing, it’s become synonymous with space travel and exploration thanks to its long association with NASA and appearances on the wrists of astronauts.
This reference is a modern-day iteration of the “moon watch”, matching the specifications approved by NASA for manned space missions. The 42mm case features a Hesalite crystal which is made from thermo-plastic and is designed not to shatter - a potential hazard in a zero-gravity environment. The dial is designed with legibility in mind and features a matte black finish with contrasting white hands, indices, and sub-dials. Housed inside the case is Omega’s tried and tested manually-wound calibre 1861, which has a 48-hour power reserve.
This 2018 example is presented in very good condition, with some minor signs of wear visible around the case back and clasp. Also included in the sale are the box, purchase receipt, pictogram card, manual, spare factory strap, strap tool, spare links, and a loupe. Please note: The original manufacturer’s warranty card is not included.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
