SUMMARY

The IWC Portugieser has been a brand-defining watch in IWC’s catalogue for over 70 years, and in 2015 the Schaffhausen-based watchmaker released the first annual calendar version. With legibility and symmetry in mind, the dial maintains the contemporary Portugueser’s trademark twin sub-register layout but adds neatly integrated arcing apertures for the annual calendar. This model’s 44mm case is crafted from luxurious rose gold and complemented by a white dial that’s embellished with applied rose gold hour markers and hands. On the underside, a large sapphire crystal displays the in-house calibre 52850 which boasts an impressive 7-day power reserve.
