This one-owner Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 5711/1A-010 was purchased new by the vendor from a UK authorised dealer. It’s accompanied by the display box, outer box, certificate of origin, original bill of sale, spare links and a leather folder with booklets and manuals. The watch’s condition appears to fall within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘AA’ grading.

Originally designed by Gerald Genta, the Nautilus ref. 5711 features a 40mm rounded octagonal case and an integrated bracelet. The dial is finished in a blue tone, with distinctive horizontal ridges emblematic of the model. The hours are marked by batons filled with Super-LumiNova, and a date aperture is positioned at 3 o’clock. Turning the watch over, a sapphire case back reveals the in-house calibre 324 SC. This self-winding movement is expertly hand finished with Côtes de Genève across the bridges and the 21K gold winding rotor. It’s also stamped with the Patek Philippe seal.

The integrated bracelet is satin-finished, with polished intermediary links and a fine bevel that extends from the case and down the edge of each link. It’s secured to the wrist via a double deployant clasp.

The 5711/1A was launched in 2006 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus and has since become the most desirable luxury steel sports watch on the planet. This meteoric rise has been further exacerbated by Patek Philippe's decision to discontinue the model, not before a short run with an olive green dial, and then finally a very limited collaboration with Tiffany & Co., the first of which achieved a startling US$6.5 million at auction.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
