Sell it with usOriginally debuted in 2005, the reference 5146J represents the second generation of annual calendar watches for Patek Philippe.
An important piece in the company’s catalogue, the patented movement was invented by Patek Philippe and only requires wearer to adjust the date once a year. Now measuring 39mm in diameter – it has grown in size since the original reference 5035 was launched in 1996.
Coupled with a yellow gold case and slate grey sunburst dial, the watch has an impressive wrist presence. From top to bottom, and side to side, the watch is nicely balanced with the complications laid out symmetrically. Despite its dressy aesthetic, luminous hands and hour plots provide utility and give the watch a versatile feel.
An exhibition case back displays the expertly finished calibre 315 S IRM QA LU movement, which has the Geneva Seal hallmark and a 21K winding rotor. Attached to the case and complementing the gold’s warm tones is a dark brown factory leather strap with an 18K pin buckle.
This example, with an original production date in 2014, is presented in very good condition with only light tarnishing around the bezel. Also included in the sale are the box and certificate of origin showing the original purchase date of 14th March 2017.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
