This one-owner IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar ref. IW503302 was purchased new by the vendor from a UK-auothised dealer in 2017. The watch is accompanied by its display box, warranty card, booklets, swing tag and calendar extension component. Some light marks and swirls are visible on the case and clasp and the leather strap shows some wear, most notably on the inside and on the keeper. The watch’s overall condition appears to be within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.

True to its heritage, the yellow gold case of this Portugieser is substantial at 44mm and offers plenty of wrist presence. It’s also nuanced, with fine brushing on the flanks and polishing on the bezel and lug hoods. Many of the timeless Portuguese features can be seen on the silver-white dial, including the railroad minutes track, leaf-style hands, and applied Arabic numerals. In addition, this technically impressive reference also displays a perpetual calendar laid out in sub-registers at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. A small aperture at 7:30 shows the year.

On the underside, IWC’s calibre 52610 is in full view thanks to the expansive sapphire crystal case back. This in-house automatic winding movement has twin main-spring barrels with an impressive seven-day power reserve. The watch is paired with a factory black alligator strap and signed IWC 18K gold deployant clasp.
