Hublot has carved out a reputation for using interesting materials and construction techniques. The Big Bang was first introduced in 2005 and has become Hublot’s most recognisable model line. Fusion of materials was the central idea behind its creation, and this theme continues with the introduction of the Big Bang Tantalum we see here.

The case measures 44mm, which is substantial in size and weight, thanks to the use of tantalum. This rare metal is heavy, tough and corrosion-resistant, with the added benefit of being far more scratch-resistant than steel or gold. Far from being flashy, it has a matte stealth-like appearance on the wrist. Attached to the case is a rubber strap with an embossed diamond pattern and a single-fold deployant buckle.

Brushed black PVD coated indices are applied to the dial. Polished and skeletonised hands jump out against the matte finish and work in harmony with the ‘H’ pattern screws on the bezel.  The chronograph sub-dials are stepped and recessed with black printed markers, and a cut-out at 4:30 displays the date.

Hublot has equipped the watch with its caliber HUB 4100 automatic chronograph movement. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers 42 hours of power reserve. A sapphire caseback and skeletonised winding rotor allow an unobstructed view of the movement.

The watch is presented in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear. Also includes new box, but not the papers. Watch was recently serviced and receipt is present.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
