The Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT is, like almost all watches from Panerai, inspired by the vintage watches issued to the Italian navy. Typical characteristics of this Swiss-made, Italian-designed watch include a cushion-shaped case, distinctive crown guard and a “sandwich” dial. This layered dial is a Panerai trademark with its underlying disc of Super-Luminova topped by an opaque dial with cut-out apertures for the numerals and indices that mark the hours. This gives the dial depth and keeps it faithful to its historical predecessors. This type of dial also ensures that the numerals and indices glow bright, making the watch very legible in the dark.

This 44mm watch, from 2015, is powered by the P.9002 in-house movement, which gives 72 hours of power reserve. It’s C.O.S.C certified and comes with an exhibition caseback that shows a 3/4 plate movement decorated with blue screws. Two additional features of note on this movement are the quick reset seconds and the 3-day power reserve indicator. First, by releasing the crown and pulling it to the second position, you can move the minutes hand and the GMT hand. Once the crown is pulled pull to that second position, the seconds hand immediately moves to zero, and the movement stops. This allows you to precisely set the current time to a time signal.

This watch, reference PAM00321, comes on a black leather strap with a Panerai tang buckle. It is accompanied by its presentation boxes, spare rubber strap, a tool for changing the straps, and its papers. Its condition falls within the seller’s assessment of AA.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
