SUMMARY

Woolf Bernato was part of the ‘Bentley Boys’, who had a reputation for high performance and winning various motor races in the 1920s. This racing chronograph was issued to pay tribute to Mr. Bernato, and with its 49mm case size, it makes a bold statement in doing so. There are subtle nods to the automotive heritage such as the distinctive knurled metal bezel, the Bentley logo on the end of the second hand, and the wheel-inspired skeleton case back.

The royal ebony dial and red-lined sub-dials are inspired by gauges and stopwatches used within the reverberating cockpits of the Hassan and Pacey special Bentley one-seaters – creating a menacing, meaningful aesthetic to the dial.
