SUMMARY

Originally created in 1939 as a bespoke product for two Portuguese clients, the IWC Portugieser was an oversized design that was capable of matching the accuracy of a marine chronometer. The Portugieser has been largely unchanged since its launch, and it has retained the circular case of the original, plus the simple, aesthetically-pleasing dial that draws on the tastes of the art deco period of its release.
