The Big Bang exploded onto the watch scene in 2005, and it soon emerged not just as Hublot’s flagship model but as a platform for exotic and daring design experiments. Big Bang introduced a new concept to watchmaking; that of hybrid materials, or fusion, in which the designers and watchmakers at Hublot experimented with bold combinations of materials. As the concept gained in popularity, Hublot’s collaborations with visual and music artists, and organisations like FIFA and Ferrari, have provided further opportunities to experiment with this concept of fusion.

This example, created in collaboration with Ferrari, was part of a limited edition of 1,000 pieces worldwide. The 45mm case is made from titanium, helping its robust dimensions wear ergonomically on the wrist. The transparent dial has large applied markers, Arabic numerals and sword-shaped hands. The outer chapter ring with the central hand serves as a seconds counter. A hint of colour is introduced onto the dial through red markings on the sub-register and a yellow date wheel. Ferrari’s prancing horse motif appears at 9 o’clock.

The mechanical automatic HUB1241 movement has 38 jewels and provides a 72-hour power reserve when fully wound.

Numbered 5 of 1,000, the watch presents in mint condition with no visible signs of wear and is within the bounds of the seller’s AA grading. Accompanying the watch is the original winder case, alongside the warranty papers, booklets, and a spare factory strap.

All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.

The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading. However, bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description, and conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to a bid.
