Sell it with usThe Big Bang exploded onto the watch scene in 2005, and it soon emerged not just as Hublot’s flagship model but as a platform for exotic and daring design experiments.
This example, released as a limited edition of just 500 watches, honours the life and achievements of Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna. The watch has an impressive wrist presence with its 44mm diameter case. Despite the size, it has an ergonomic feel thanks to ceramic construction and short downturned lugs that hug the wrist. A small Brazilian flag is etched onto the case at 9 o’clock in reference to Senna’s heritage.
In stark contrast with the stealthy black case, the dial has colour and personality. Continuing the Brazilian theme, applied polished indices and hands are filled with yellow Luminova, and Senna’s signature is inscribed in green. The sub-dials offer a clue to the interesting movement which is housed inside the case.
The watch is powered by Hublot’s calibre HUB44, which features split-second and fly-back chronograph functionality, as well as a ‘foudroyante’, or jumping seconds that’s displayed at 9 o’clock. A sapphire crystal on the watch's underside allows the wearer to view the movement.
Numbered 185 of 500, this example shows some light signs of wear, and its condition is within the bounds of the seller’s A grading. The watch is supplied on a factory green leather strap with rubber underlay, giving it a unique and striking aesthetic that sets it apart from other examples. The original black rubber strap with Ayrton Senna insignia also accompanies the watch. It’s supplied with the display box, warranty card, swing tag and purchase receipt.
