Sell it with usThis Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167/1A-001 is being sold as a full set from a private owner and has the desirability of both the 1A-001 stainless steel bracelet as well as a new factory rubber strap and deployant clasp. The owner notes that the watch was comprehensively serviced by Patek Philippe in 2019 (paperwork and guarantee included) and hasn't been worn since. The condition of the watch is within the bounds of the seller's AAA grading. It is a full set with all the paperwork present and correct including the certificate of origin and service receipts whilst the mahogany box, felt cloth and cardboard surround box are all present and in superb condition. In addition, there are also two Patek travel pouches included in the sale.
The case measures 40.8mm in diameter with a beautiful blend of brushed and polished surfaces. Due to its impressive thinness at 8mm, the watch can easily slide under any shirt cuff. The 120m water-resistant case ensures it’s just at home by the water.
The sunray dial is characterised by a distinctive geosphere pattern, with large applied Arabic numerals providing high levels of legibility. Turning the watch over, the self-winding calibre 324 SC is visible through the sapphire case back. This ultra-thin movement boasts a power reserve of 45 hours and is elaborately decorated with Côtes de Genève across the bridges and the 21K winding rotor. The Patek Philippe seal certifies its quality and that timekeeping is tested from -3 to +2 seconds per day.
Introduced in 1997, the Aquanaut draws inspiration from its Genta designed counterpart, the Nautilus, but maintains its own unique character. It was considered unconventional at launch, offered on a strap made of rubber - a material not traditionally associated with Switzerland’s premier watchmakers. Since then, it’s set the trend for other manufacturers to combine luxurious and contemporary materials, and the rapid rise in values illustrates its popularity with collectors.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
