Sell it with usAuctioned through its first-and-only owner, this 2011 Breguet Marine Chronograph is being auctioned as a full set. The watch is accompanied by its original display box, official documents including the guarantee, plus an unworn spare rubber strap. There are a few light marks and scratches on the case, plus some light wear on the fitted alligator strap. The watch fits within the bounds of the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.
Measuring 42mm in diameter, the 18K rose gold case is highly nuanced with coin-edged flanks and strongly defined lugs which are welded on and hand-finished. A wave theme is incorporated throughout, including on the chronograph pushers and the movement’s winding rotor.
The dial has guilloche throughout with rose gold applique Roman numerals and hands. The chronograph has a radial minutes indicator not commonly seen on conventional chronographs. The hours sub-register is positioned at 6 o’clock.
Anchored to the watch by two prominent lugs is a brown alligator strap fitted with a matching 18k rose gold clasp.
This reference is powered by Breguet’s 583Q/1 self-winding calibre, which has a 48-hour power reserve and is equipped with flyback chronograph functionality. In line with the sporty personality of the Marine line, the watch has a water resistance of 100 metres.
The Breguet Marine family was launched in 1990 and draws on the brand’s nautical heritage of producing timekeeping equipment from the French Navy.
