Sell it with usFrom a private collector comes this Cartier Roadster chronograph ref.l Xl 2619 in yellow gold. Acquired by the vendor from a New York jeweller, it’s accompanied by the presentation box, Cartier leather pouch and two spare Cartier leather straps - one in black with a yellow gold deployant clasp, and the other in brown with a steel deployant clasp. The watch shows general signs of wear in the form of light scratches to the case, bezel and bracelet, and its overall condition is within the bounds of the seller’s A grading.
The 43mm tonneau-shaped case and bracelet are finished in yellow gold - offering an eye-catching and luxurious aesthetic. The dial reflects automotive design influences and resembles the dashboard of a classic car in its display of hours, minutes, running seconds and the chronograph. Of note is the magnifier for the date window, which sweeps across the dial from an elaborately engineered crown.
The Roadster bracelet also features sweeping lines across each of the individual links. A double folding deployant clasp holds things together whilst an innovative quick release system makes changing the bracelet for a strap a matter of ease. The movement is an ETA 2894 modular automatic chronograph movement with vertical clutches that ensure smooth operation of the chronograph.
The Cartier Roadster was first launched in 2002 and was offered for only a decade before being discontinued.
