Sell it with usBvlgari has created a loyal following the last couple of years, after the success of its Octo Finissimo sports watch. However, the brand has a rich history of beautiful timepieces that still fly under the radar, and this Daniel Roth Grand Lune is one such example.
A timepiece that came to fruition after Bvlgari absorbed Daniel Roth, it is the Italian's fashion and jewellery house take on the Athys Moon 2134 from 2009. This facelifted version of the watch represents Italian design at its best. The split-level dial features white-lacquered and black gold satin-brushed surfaces, which become the background for the 18kt rose gold hands and hour markers.
Effortlessly integrated yet unmistakably the watch's main attraction, is the moon phase complication. With a lunar cycle precise enough that it doesn't need any correction for 125 years, it’s both artistic and supremely engineered.
This example from the 2010s is presented in excellent condition apart from a slight mark on the inside of the alligator strap, bringing it within the seller's A grading. The sale doesn't include the original box or any documentation, but the seller notes it was recently serviced (March 2021) and is in good working order.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
The description of this auction lot is, to the best of the seller's knowledge, accurate and not misleading.
