Sell it with usOffered by a trade vendor located in Cape Town, South Africa, this Omega Speedmaster Professional ref. 311.30.42.30.01.005 is presented with its display box, operating instructions and black leather sleeve holding the warranty card and pictograms card. Also included are a spare Omega strap, loupe and strap tool. The watch shows some visible signs of wear including light marks and scratches on the case and bracelet. Its overall condition appears consistent with the vendor’s ‘A’ grading.
The Speedmaster Professional is one of the true greats of modern watchmaking, with a timeless design that has changed very little in over 50 years of production. A watch with terrestrial routes that was initially designed for motor racing, it’s become synonymous with space travel and exploration thanks to its long association with NASA and appearances on the wrists of astronauts.
This reference, produced between 2014 and 2020, is a modern-day iteration of the “moon watch”, matching the specifications approved by NASA for manned space missions. The 42mm case features a Hesalite crystal made from thermoplastic and is designed not to shatter - a potential hazard in a zero-gravity environment. The dial is designed with legibility in mind and features a matte black finish with contrasting white hands, numerals and indices. Housed inside the case is Omega’s tried and tested manually-wound calibre 1861, which has a 48-hour power reserve.
All watches offered for sale are searched and cleared against The Watch Register database and a certificate is available to the winning bidder upon request.
