Up for auction through a private collector, this 2010 Breguet Marine is presented as a full set. The watch is accompanied by its original display box and outer sleeve, plus a complete set of documents including its official manufacturer guarantee. In line with its age, the watch wears some marks and swirls on the mid-case, bezel, lugs and case back. The vendor advises the watch is in good working order and its condition appears to be within the bounds of their ‘A’ grading.

Finished entirely in stainless steel, the case of this elegant sports watch measures 39mm in diameter, and will therefore fit comfortably on a range of wrist sizes. Beneath the raised bezel is an eye-catching silver dial, which is a source of aesthetic interest thanks to its part guilloche spiral, and part sunburst finish. Blue Roman numerals serve as hour markers, and are matched by a set of traditional ‘Breguet’ style hands displaying hours, minutes, and seconds. Anchored to the watch is a blue rubber strap, which is equally at home in a professional environment as it is by the water.

Turn this reference over, and beneath the sapphire case back is Breguet’s 517GG calibre, which is self-winding with a power reserve of 65 hours. Like all members of the Marine family, the engine-turned rotor of the movement is finished in striking 18K gold. The watch is water resistant up to 100 metres.

Breguet’s Marine line draws on the watchmaker’s rich history - offering a contemporary sports watch with a classical and refined aesthetic.
