Sell it with usA one-owner watch from new, this was purchased from Patek Philippe, and has been serviced since then. It is offered as a full set, coming with all the original documentation. The watch has been worn and has light scratches to the case and lugs. It has light, but visible scratches to the crystal. The strap shows very little wear with only light marks from the buckle.
The 5960P is cased in platinum with a diameter of 40.5mm. The elegant lines belie the complexity within. Day, date, and month apertures are positioned at 10, 12 and 2, with a discrete power reserve indicator below 12. At 6 sits the concentric chronograph totaliser with also houses the day/night indicator. The chronograph has a fly-back function, meaning that the reset pusher can be pressed while the chronograph is running, sending it back to zero and restarting automatically. A sapphire crystal display case back reveals the CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H calibre, a 40 jewel automatic movement with a 55hr power reserve.
The first automatic chronographs were developed in 1969, but it is testament to Patek Philippe’s dedication to complicated movements that their first foray into this field combined not only a flyback function but their characteristic and patented annual calendar as well. This bring watches with multiple complications within the reach of a far wider buying audience.
