Sell it with usA single-owner watch, it was purchased by the vendor at an authorised Patek Philippe dealer. This Nautilus 5711 is sold as a full set example. The sale includes the box, certificate of origin, booklets, extra bracelet links, swing tag and original purchase receipt. Presented with some expected signs of wear due to its age, it is consistent with the seller’s ‘A’ grading.
The Nautilus 5711/1A presents in a 40mm stainless steel case with a distinctive rounded octagonal bezel. Its thin profile and integrated bracelet, make it extremely ergonomic and cuff-friendly. The blue dial features a distinctive horizontal embossing that’s complemented by applied white gold hour markers and hands. Turning the watch over reveals the in-house calibre 324 SC. This self-winding movement incorporates several of Patek Philippe’s innovations. These include the four-spoke Gyromax® balance wheel and the Spiromax® balance-spring in Silinvar®. The immaculately finished movement is topped off with a 21K gold winding rotor.
Introduced in 2006 as a 30th anniversary celebration of the original Gerald Genta designed Nautilus, the 5711 has grown immensely in status as it interprets the original 3700 in a modern way while also respecting its heritage. This meteoric rise in the references popularity has been further exacerbated by Patek Philippe's decision to discontinue the model, cementing the 5711’s importance to collectors.
